Normally, I like a yellow kitchen, but with light cabinets, counters and tile the room was feeling very neutral and blah. I wanted it to feel more lively, so I chose a reddish orange. Wow! Such a vibrant color really made the cabinets and counters pop--it was like getting a new kitchen. I never would have gone with a bold color like orange if I hadn't thought about how I wanted the room to feel. This concept helped me pick out a color for the kitchen in my new house. My father passed away several years ago so as I celebrate with my husband and family, I also look back to times shared with Dad. Whenever I get together with my sisters we recall his "Earlisms". This Father's Day will surely find us telling our kids about their Grandfather's famous sayings. One favorite was always heard when his 4 daughters were barefoot and stepped on a stone or a thistle..."that wouldn't have happened if you had been wearing shoes". Did you know that there are specialized models—some who only model wigs and some who only do shoe/foot work (who knew?!)
